Drawing on the Audre Lorde's timeless essay ‘Uses of the Erotic’ Alexine invites you to delve into the erotic with her. Western knowledge systems, tools of the imperialist and capitalist regime of the West, dissociate us from our bodies which means that we have lost touch with the truths that lie deeply within the body, within the erotic. In this hour of part lecture and part movement meditation, Alexine invites us to go back to our bodies and tune in to their language through movement practices. Through rhythms of the tambú dance from her native Curacao, Alexine shares her journey of connecting to the erotic, as a way of knowing herself and the world around her, and as a way of dreaming up different realities.
